After you’ve made your plans and set your budget it’s time to start scrolling Pinterest for some inspiration and to help you get started, we gathered our favorite home decorating trends for 2019.
Now this may seem like a vague trend, but we see it as opportunity to grow, literally this can mean bringing greenery into your home. Indoor plants can be added as chic décor and have an added bonus of being able to detoxify your house. If you don’t have a green thumb, try bringing some nature in via home décor and accents like adding an exposed or raw wood table or retiling the bathroom, kitchen or fire place with some raw stone.
Jewel tones and darker colors are having their moment in the spotlight during 2019. Last year might have been the year for millennial pink and pastels but classic navy blue and emerald green will always be in style and especially right now. Try an accent wall in your bedroom or living room for a fresh update. If you don’t want to do something so drastic, ease into jewel and dark tones with throw blankets, art work and rugs.
Floral patterns are often see has old and antique but with new and updated patterns coming out every season you can turn a new leaf in your home this year. Why not try adding some elegant floral wall paper or updating your bedding to something bright and festive before spring rolls around. If you can’t commit to something so drastic, sample this trend by adding small accents with floral patterns like pillows in the living room or some new dishes in the kitchen.
Handmade & Unique Pieces:
You can’t go wrong with a stunning handmade furniture or art piece in your home. The next free weekend you have grab your friends or family and head to your favorite antique furniture store to scope out your next stunning piece. Local artisan and craft fairs are a great place to get beautiful hand made art works and even small furniture. Even if you don’t always bring something home, you can make connections with local art and furniture makers who might be open to special order pieces.
This might seem like rudimentary trend but 2019 should be for experimenting with new and unusual shapes like triangles and hexagons, and rhombus’ (diamond-like shape). Test paring a cool geometric shape with a bold rich color in your bathroom or kitchen. Retiling the back-splash may seem like a difficult mission, but in-fact can be really fun and will definitely add classy look to your kitchen or bathroom. Try a basic hexagon tile in blue or maybe a yellow color for something bright and cheery.
